RVS Is In The Driving Seat

The RVS RCV Driving Challenge is already reaping rewards for RVS’ official charity - Cancer Research UK - with the participants at this year’s PAWRS show raising £942 for the charity.

The unique challenge is part of RVS’ ongoing fundraising campaign for Cancer Research UK and invites participants to manoeuvre a brand new custom-made remote control RCV around a special circuit, in return for a small donation to the charity.

More than 30 visitors participated in the PAWRS challenge – the first driving challenge to be held - with Loyd Chandler of Priority Hire completing the circuit in just 43.5 seconds to take first place on the RVS Driving Challenge leader-board to win a Kindle Fire.  Paul Weeks of Nicholas Rowell Haulage came second with a time of 48.7 seconds and Oliver Hoadley of ISS International clocked a lap time of 58.7 seconds to take third position.

An RVS RCV Driving Challenge Leader-Board of the top ten drivers is posted on the RVS website, enabling participants to keep track of ‘the competition’ and also the funds raised.

The next heat of the RCV Driving Challenge is now scheduled to take place at RWM in September with a series of additional heats also being organised for 2014.  Visitors to the RWM show can participate by visiting RVS’ stand (number OA136).
